• Corrosion and oxidation resistance:It forms a protective oxide layer when heated, which shields the material from further attack, especially in oxidation-prone applications. It also resists general corrosion like pitting and crevice corrosion.
• High-temperature strength:It retains high tensile strength at elevated temperatures where other materials would fail.
• Stress corrosion cracking resistance:The high nickel content makes it virtually immune to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking, even in cold-worked and annealed conditions.
• Excellent weldability and formability:The sheets can be easily welded using standard techniques and can be both hot and cold formed.
• Composition:Inconel 600 is an austenitic nickel-chromium alloy with a high nickel content (at least 72%), along with chromium (14-17%), iron (6-10%), and other elements like manganese, silicon, and copper.

• Chemical processing equipment, such as ethylene dichloride crackers and fatty acid processing equipment.
