Hastelloy B pipe is a nickel-molybdenum alloy pipe known for its excellent corrosion resistance, especially in reducing environments like hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and acetic acid. It is a solid-solution strengthened alloy that can be used in the "as-welded" condition because it resists grain-boundary carbide precipitates. This makes it ideal for demanding applications in the chemical processing and other industries that require high resistance to corrosive media.

Key characteristics

Composition: A wrought nickel-molybdenum alloy.
Corrosion resistance: Offers exceptional resistance to reducing acids, including all concentrations and temperatures of hydrochloric acid. It also withstands sulfuric, acetic, and phosphoric acids.
Weldability: Can be used in the "as-welded" condition, as it does not form grain-boundary carbide precipitates in the heat-affected zone.
Mechanical strength: It is a solid-solution strengthened alloy with good ductility and thermal stability.
